Welcome to the Holmes Chapel & District u3a
We are a u3a in Cheshire with over 900 members drawn from Holmes Chapel, Brereton, Sproston, Cranage, Allostock, Goostrey, Twemlow and other surrounding towns and villages. We are a voluntary organisation and our purpose is to bring together people who are no longer in full-time employment, to enjoy shared activities and learning opportunities. The emphasis is on mutual support, socialising, and fun.

Chair’s Message
A very warm welcome to our u3a. Every year our membership continues to grow, and we now have more than nine hundred members. One of the benefits is that there are now over sixty different activities available through over eighty groups. Our u3a, serving Holmes Chapel and surrounding villages, truly lives up to its mantra...
Learn, Laugh, Live
All this work is undertaken by Group Leaders who share their knowledge, expertise, and passions. At the click of a button, you can obtain lots of information and join groups. Additionally, we have a monthly meeting with a speaker and refreshments - it is a great opportunity to get to know others. New Group Leaders have stepped up to the plate to lead additional activities, including a fifth Pilates Group, dressmaking, a Choir and soon, a “backwards” Jigsaw group (Wasgij!). It keeps our u3a exciting, interesting, and fresh. From Art to Zumba and Bridge to Yoga, there really is...
Something for Everyone
Many other people help to keep our u3a going, from supporting our Monthly Meetings to assisting at the annual Open Morning and Special events. I, together with my fellow Trustees on your u3a committee enable our organisation to keep running, stay solvent and fully compliant with our legal obligations.
Of course, the more we offer, the more volunteers and Committee support we need. How can you help? There are no paid officials - everyone is a volunteer. We need a steady flow of potential successors to keep our organisation going. We all enjoy belonging to our u3a, not just for the activities, but the social contacts and fun we have.
Run by Members for Members
Thank you to all that do help - this vibrant organisation plays such an important role in our community.
