WALK DESCRITION

A relaxing walk of approximately 3.5 miles starting/finishing at The Big Lock Pub in Middlewich.  A relatively flat, straightforward and scenic trail that follows the towpaths of the Trent & Mersey and Shropshire Union canals.  In wetter weather the paths can be muddy, so appropriate footwear is advised.  Followed by lunch at The Big Lock Pub for those wishing to stay on for food.

MEETING PLACE

10:15 for a 10:30 start at The Big Lock Pub, Webb’s Lane, Middlewich, CW10 9DN. Drive time from Holmes Chapel approximately 15 minutes (4.2 miles).  There is a car park and street parking is available for those not staying for lunch.  If a lift is required, please call Joanne Loftus on 07769 931907. 

ESTIMATED WALK TIME - 2 hours with a break. 

DISTANCE - Approximately 3.5 miles. 

TERRAIN - Generally accessible but includes some sections with slight inclines and can be uneven in places, especially after rain. 

STILES -None. 

EQUIPMENT

Walking boots and warm/waterproof clothing (appropriate for the time of year). 

REFRESHMENTS

Please bring a drink and snack for the break. 

LUNCH
