Holmes Chapel & District U3A Walk Friday 9^th October

Tegg's Nose and Macclesfield Forest Circular

A 7.5 mile graded Moderate plus walk with a number of significant descents and climbs. Estimated walking time 4.0 hours.

Parking: Tegg's Nose Country Park, Buxton Old Road, Macclesfield. SK11 0AP

Driving time from Holmes Chapel to Teggs Nose County Park is approx. 35 minutes, suggested driving route attached.

Arrive at Teggs Nose Car park 9.45 ready to walk at 10am Car parking all day is £4.30 payable by cash or card.

There will be a stop for coffee/snack and lunch so pack drinks and food.

The proposed route has considered the potential closed paths at Ridgegate reservoir and Macclesfield forest. The route may vary on the day.

No stiles

Ensue you have suitable clothes, waterproofs boots, etc essential, walking poles may be useful.

Hopefully the weather in October will be fair but it is some degrees cooler at this elevation so layers are recommended. 

There are toilets at Teggs Nose Country Park and Trenterbank visitors centre. 

I assume people will want to make their own way to the start but if transport is required please let me know.
